Service helps get Balby Clean for The Queen

A group of people from a Doncaster drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit took to the streets with litter pickers and rubbish bags in support of a campaign to give Britain a major spring clean in time for The Queen’s 90th birthday.

Service users and staff from Aspire’s New Beginnings Recovery-Orientated Detoxification Service cleaned in and around the Balby community to do their bit for the nationwide ‘Clean for The Queen’ initiative, which has seen millions of people stepping out to clean up litter ahead of Her Majesty’s official birthday celebrations in June.

Aspire Recovery Worker Scott Lane said: “It was a great day for us all to get out into our local community and give something back, by making the areas and streets around us cleaner and overall a much better place to be.

“Everyone worked really hard to make this a success and we’ve already started discussing more community clean ups in the future.”
