Aspire set to launch Stainforth Hub

Doncaster’s Drug and Alcohol Service is set to launch its Stainforth Hub on Monday 15 August.

Following the successful launch of community hubs in Bentley and Mexborough, Aspire Drug and Alcohol Service will hold a free drop in event at Stainforth Clinic on Church Road, between 11am and 3pm, to share information with the local community on how the Stainforth Hub will support people with drug and alcohol problems – and their families – to beat their addictions, and go on to successfully lead fulfilling, independent lives within their communities.

Aspire Service Manager Stuart Green said: “We’re delighted to be launching our Stainforth Hub.

“When someone makes their first contact with our service it’s critical they have a positive experience, as this could be the deciding factor on them engaging with treatment and staying the course.

“These local hubs mean we’re bringing our service into the local community close to where people live, making it as easy as possible for them to get the help and support they need.”

The Stainforth event will include therapy taster sessions, along with information and advice on the kind of support we can offer at the hubs. It’s open to anyone who’d like to know more about the help we provide – including families and friends of people experiencing problems with addiction.

Stuart added: “There will also be chance to meet our peer mentors who welcome people to the service, explain what they can expect and share their own story and experience.

“They go on to provide ongoing advice and support to people throughout their recovery journey and offer mutual support beyond formal engagement with our services, which means we’re building a thriving recovery community in Doncaster.”
