Putting their best feet forward

Health staff and service users in Doncaster are putting their best feet forward and taking part in a number of events to mark May’s National Walking Month.

The group,  made up of service users and staff from Aspire Drug and Alcohol Services, will get their walking boots on and head on a number of walks – to not only mark the month but to get in their exercise.

The group have already walked for half a day around Edlington Pit Wood and will head out around Sprotbrough, the Dearne Valley and Fox House, Sheffield over the coming weeks.

Support Worker Scott Lane, of Aspire’s New Beginnings, based on Marshall Avenue, said: “We love taking part in events like this. Recently a group of staff and service users followed the Tour de Yorkshire Doncaster route and we had a great time. Now we’re helping to celebrate National Walking Month.  Why not get your walking boots or trainers on and mark the month too? There’s nothing better than going on a walk and enjoying the fresh air, seeing the countryside and wildlife.”
